Our Appellation
Deep in the heart of the Emerald Triangle, along the South Fork of the Trinity River somewhere between Hayfork and Willow Creek, on the border of Trinity and Humboldt counties, lies a very special, magical place, a natural botanical haven in a nearly secret river valley surrounded by pristine wilderness. Hyampom, long ago named by the Wintu Tribe that dwelled here, is one of the most optimal and distinguished microclimates for full season outdoor cannabis cultivation in the world, smack dab in the middle of what is known as the “Middle Klamath Appellation”, noted as one of “the most important appellation regions to watch” for the outdoor cultivation of cannabis in the world. This is our home and longtime held secret enclave.
We live in a mystical place out of time in an isolated valley along the south fork of the wild and scenic Trinity River, deep in the heart of the Emerald Triangle, 8 miles east of the Humboldt county line and while only 40 miles inland from the coast as the crow flies, protected from coastal fog and separated from Humboldt by a 6000 ft ridge to the east that is the longest continuous ridgeline in North America. At an elevation of 1260 ft above sea level and with a long, dry summer and beautiful, sunny and crisp fall season that ends in a sure to be frosty finish before winter, it is one of the greatest, most distinctive and unique micrclimates and microregions in the world for cannabis. The hidden gem of the Emerald Triangle, Hyampom Valley is truly a "cannabis belt", rainier in winter and more lush and green in the summers than places further south such as interior Mendo and Southern Humboldt, warmer in the day, colder at night and less foggy than the coastal regions of Humboldt and Mendocino, and lower down in elevation with a warmer, longer growing season than most other parts of Trinity. The soils are predominantly a mixture of rich minerals washed down from the mountain over time, loamy sediment from an ancient sea bed, and blue and red clays, and characterized by woodland meadows of Oak, Pine, Fir, Madrone and Manzanita. It is extremely isolated and remote, allowing it to remain a very wild and pristine place. We locals don’t really like to draw attention to it or ourselves, and we often choose anonymity in order to protect the sacred beauty of this magical and wild place that we hope will remain so.

Giving Back to the Land and our Community
Our rural backwoods communities and our sacred wilderness are both in facing massive environmental challenges, pollution and over-depletion of our watersheds and degradation of our ecosystem. In 2016 we founded a local farmer's guild whose mission is promoting ecologically responsible practices to protect the health and wellbeing of our community's wildlife, forests, watershed and economy. We are now working on a community-wide reforestation initiative that allows private landowners to work collectively to maintain the forests and restore our forest ecosystems. We regularly present free workshops, including events sponsored by the Watershed Center, Growing Green, and Cal Growers Association, on topics from Water Conservation to permaculture BMPs.
As musical artists currently on hiatus from the professional world stage, we are thoroughly enjoying spending time in musical retreat, helping other artists produce their work, and inviting our musical friends from all over the world to come make music with us, as part of a very special not-for-profit organization, the Trinity Alps Chamber Music Festival, now in its eighth season, committed to bringing world-class classical chamber music and education opportunities to our rural communities by sponsoring concerts and festival events throughout the farthest reaches of the county and larger Northern California region that are free of charge.
